Nick’s Michigan Backyard – FineGardening


My identify is Nick Bresso. I stay in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, which is simply north of Detroit. My backyard is in Zone 6a. We moved to our dwelling 4 years in the past and began with a clean slate for the backyard.

Throughout the summer time, the dogwood has inexperienced leaves edged with yellow, and the hosta has inexperienced leaves with gold facilities. As you’ll be able to see, within the fall the dogwood turns pink and white, and the hosta turns gold and white.

ornamental grass and various shrubs in the gardenYews (Taxus spp.), boxwoods (Buxus spp.), and arborvitae (Thuja spp.) are the core of my backyard, with a ‘Bihou’ Japanese maple (Acer palmatum ‘Bihou’, Zones 5–9) including some colour.
